After a day spent wine tasting in the Willamette Valley, we drove over to The Joel Palmer House for Jennifer’s surprise birthday dinner. The restaurant is known for their many uses of freshly-harvested local wild mushrooms and truffles. We all decided to try the eight-course “mushroom madness” tasting menu. Some of the highlight dishes include wild mushroom soup, scallop quenelle with lobster-tarragon cream sauce and black trumpet mushroom shavings, three mushroom tart, sturgeon with mushroom duxelle and cayenne aioli, angel hair pasta with lobster mushrooms, and finally, a trio of candy cap mushroom desserts.
