After an early lunch, we left the lake house and made the short drive over to Seattle for a day of sightseeing. Our first stop was at Discovery Park. We spent some time exploring the beach and lighthouse there, before heading back into the city. We then signed up for Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour, which takes you through a network of underground passageways and basements in downtown Seattle that was ground level at the city’s origin in the mid-19th century. While the history and scenery were worth the price of admission, the very unfunny-but-thought-she-was-hilarious tour guide was a bit of a turnoff, especially for Mom, who did not realize we were on a “comedy” tour!
