Mom had discovered Banana Leaf on her previous trip to Vancouver, and having enjoyed her meal there and seeing as it was walking distance from where we were lodging, it only made sense to head over during our Vancouver stay. Specializing in Malaysian cuisine, we had a wonderful family-style meal consisting of julienned mango salad, roti canna (a flaky layered Indian bread with curry dip), sambal chili prawns, Assam curry scallops, sambal chili fried okra, eggplant, and green beans, and finally an order of pisang goring (crispy fried banana with vanilla ice cream topped with crushed peanut and palm sugar) for dessert.
