During a visit to LACMA with our mom, we got a members-only sneak peek at the museum’s newest exhibition Children of the Plumed Serpent: the Legacy of Quetzalcoatl in Ancient Mexico, which traces the history of this deity and his southern Mexican followers. On display are a good mix of cultural and art objects, including ceramics, stone sculptures, and even a few well-preserved textiles. The real highlight, however, are the numerous and well-preserved codices telling the story of these people in pictorial form.
