A former Q-ship built in 1918, the Star later served as a party boat and fishing barge before sinking unexpectedly in 1942. She is nearly 260′ long and sits in about 85′ off Santa Monica, CA. Visibility was a dirty 10′ this day, but she’s a very pretty wreck, attracting large schools of fish (and apparently plenty of mating squid!).
